The town of Senta is one of the oldest in Vojvodina. It lies along the western bank of the Tisa River, in the tame Vojvodina plane which is one of the most fertile soils in Europe. Due to its geographical location and climate, Vojvodina had been predestined for cultivating cereal cultures
In 1884, in the heart of this fertile granary, the “ŽITOPROMET-MLIN“ enterprise was founded. Putting the first steam roller mill into operation marked the beginnings of the milling tradition in Senta. Due to a successful business policy the mill grew in size and in 1957, when the pasta factory was founded, a higher level of finalization was implemented. In addition a bakery was built along with the factory in order to expand the assortment.

By constant investments into capacity expansions and technology modernization, the company has evolved into one that brings significant progress to the town and the region as well.
